CARAVAN SALON 2024
Düsseldorf becomes the international capital of mobile leisure for ten days
Caravanning stands for self-determined and independent travel in the heart of nature and fulfills people’s desire for freedom and individuality like no other form of vacation. At CARAVAN SALON from August 30 to September 8, the community’s mobile dreams will be fulfilled and the industry will showcase its entire portfolio, from vehicles to suitable vacation destinations. For ten days, Düsseldorf will be the international capital of mobile leisure and will once again impress with a comprehensive program, special shows and many attractions.
On 250,000 square meters, over 750 exhibitors will showcase the latest caravans, motorhomes and campervans as well as accessories, expansion parts, tents, mobile homes, vacation destinations and camping and motorhome pitches. “The development of the leading trade fair for the caravanning industry is impressive. We can top last year’s record figures once again and are therefore looking forward to the biggest CARAVAN SALON of all time in 2024. Our 16 halls and the outdoor area are fully booked right down to the last section, and for our visitors this means above all that the variety of products will increase once again. CARAVAN SALON is more valuable than ever for the industry and especially for end consumers”, says Director Stefan Koschke.
Daniel Onggowinarso, Managing Director of the Caravanning Industry Association (CIVD): “As the largest and most important trade fair in our industry, CARAVAN SALON is the undisputed highlight of the caravanning year. Nowhere else can visitors immerse themselves so deeply in the diverse world of caravanning and experience the latest innovations and product trends at first hand. This naturally includes the latest vehicle models from caravan and motorhome manufacturers, which traditionally celebrate their premiere at CARAVAN SALON. But the trade fair is much more than just a showcase for products; it is also an indispensable platform for exchange and dialog across industry boundaries, as caravanning has undoubtedly developed into a significant tourism and economic factor. We are therefore delighted to be able to welcome numerous representatives from politics, business and science to the trade fair again this year.”
In addition to the exhibitors’ activities, there will be a varied program and many special topics relating to mobile leisure in the halls and on the open-air site:
“StarterWelt” in the outdoor area – a must for beginners
The popular StarterWelt is the first port of call for anyone who is just discovering mobile travel for themselves. This year it will be located in the outdoor area between Halls 10 and 16. During CARAVAN SALON, it will help newcomers and beginners to find their way around the extensive range of vehicles on offer at the trade fair and find the right vehicle. Among other things, professionals will give recommendations on vehicle types, travel routes or the right choice of campsite and will also be available to answer questions. In addition to the personal consultations, a varied stage program with all relevant topics on mobile travel will provide even more information and inspiration.

Self-conversion Adventure
Also on the open-air site, the special show “Abenteuer Selbstausbau” will be the first port of call for the Do It Yourself community and VanLife fans. Martin Kreplin’s team with the explorer & VANderlust magazines will be providing professional assistance in front of Halls 13 and 14 and using their expert knowledge to show what needs to be considered when converting or extending your own motorhome (or caravan). Several self-built leisure vehicles will clearly demonstrate what is possible. Daily lectures for beginners, advanced and professionals provide information on important topics such as workshop and material science, electricity and energy supply, heating and cooking, insulation or floor plan planning.
Traumtouren-Kino and spectacular EOFT films
In the Traumtouren-Kino in Hall 1 / 1st floor (Room 16), viewers can once again experience exciting caravanning destinations this year. Konstantin Abert, Janette Emerich and Uwe Hamm will show visitors impressive impressions of dream countries near and far. This time, the entertaining shows will take them to France, Turkey, Iceland, Patagonia and along the Pan-American Highway and Trans-Africa.
Faster, higher, further – that’s the motto of the European Outdoor Film Tour (EOFT). On the “Travel & Nature CONNECTED” stage in Hall 7 on Friday, September 6 at 6 p.m., the EOFT crew will provide an insight into the spectacular diversity of outdoor and adventure sports. When the protagonists get going, the world turns upside down – and so does the screen. The EOFT film experience is free of charge for CARAVAN SALON visitors.

B2B – Professional Program 2024
The CARAVAN SALON no longer only focuses on products and services, it has also developed into an important dialog platform and networking area in recent years. The conference area for professionals and experts will be further expanded under the title “Destination Future 2024”. In addition to the established formats “Symposium: Nature.Tourism.Future.”, “German Parking Space Day” and “Hiking Trail Quality Day”, the Camping Destination Day, the networking evening “Travel Industry meets Caravaning”, the CARAVAN SALON “InnovationStage” and the Outdoor-Host day are four new formats that will significantly enhance the B2B program.
Various examples and best practices will be used to highlight the development stages on the way to innovative caravanning destinations. The entire program is available here:

“Camper of the year 2024”
The ADAC is looking for the “Camper of the Year 2024”. The final of the nationwide competition will take place on Saturday, September 7, from 11 AM to 4 PM in the outdoor area in front of Hall 10. Finalists from all over Germany qualified for the final round during the ADAC Camping Days in June and July and will have to demonstrate their skills in the areas of driving precision, skill and camping knowledge in various driving disciplines and several special tasks.
Hall 7: Travel & Nature CONNECTED
The tourism area of CARAVAN SALON will be presented in all its facets for the first time in Hall 7 in the immediate vicinity of the North Entrance. Here you will find a variety of dream destinations, attractive campsites and pitches and perfect caravanning destinations for outdoor activities such as hiking, climbing or biking. The offer in this hall is complemented by an informative and entertaining program on the “Travel & Nature CONNECTED” stage, which invites visitors to dream and plan their next tours.
E-Bike-Parcours in front of Hall 15
Cycling is one of the favorite hobbies of many caravanning fans. E-bikes in particular are very popular and are often used for tours between the campsite and the excursion destination. In the outdoor area in front of Hall 15, the “e-bike course” offers visitors the opportunity to try out the riding characteristics of electric bikes, e-scooters and electric scooters in a separate area.
Rally for children and adventure camp
For younger visitors, the German Hiking Association, in cooperation with many exhibitors, is organizing the Rally for Children in Hall 7.0, which invites families to participate and discover at various stations. Equipped with an activity card, the kids can explore the hall and solve small puzzles at various exhibitors or prove themselves in a variety of hands-on activities. From games of skill and the popular nature quiz to a search game, there is something for children of all ages. Registration is possible at the stand of the German Hiking Association. At the weekends, young people and children can enjoy a wide range of games and climbing opportunities at the Adventure Camp run by the Stadtsportbund Düsseldorf. In the outdoor area between Hall 10 and Hall 16, various activity stations invite you to play and have fun.
Caravan Center
If you want to turn your visit to the trade fair into a short break, head for the popular Caravan Center on the P1 parking lot. The largest parking area in Europe during CARAVAN SALON, with around 3,500 serviced and unserviced pitches, brings the community together. Due to the high demand, the pitches are limited to 48 hours when booking this year – so even more interested parties will have the opportunity to spend the night at the Caravan Center.
