CMT 2022
No Stuttgart Holiday Exhibition next year / State Government bans the staging of trade fairs and exhibitions at Alert Level II
Despite a great deal of interest among visitors and exhibitors, as well as an approved safety and hygiene concept that was tested in autumn, CMT cannot be held as scheduled at Messe Stuttgart from 15 to 23 January 2022. This also applies to the subsidiary shows “Cycling and Hiking Holidays”, “Cruises and Ship Travel”, and “Golf and Wellness Holidays”. As announced today by the Baden-Württemberg State Government, the corona measures for infection protection are being extended. Under the new Ordinance, trade fairs and exhibitions are banned for the time being at the current Alert Level II in Baden-Württemberg. The Corona Ordinance will apply initially until 17 January 2022. According to the State Ministry, however, it will be continually reviewed and adapted to the current infection level.
Roland Bleinroth, President of Messe Stuttgart, greatly regrets this development: “Since CMT 2021 was at least held in a digital format, we made intensive preparations in the last few months for an attended event in January together with all partners and exhibitors. The booked up halls at CMT clearly show us that an exhibition platform is urgently required. At present, we will deliberately not hold a hybrid event. Apart from the fact that the focal points of CMT are the exchange of information, advisory discussions and direct personal contact, the preparation time for an alternative digital format would now be far too short,” said Bleinroth. However, interested parties could obtain information about companies, products and innovations from the tourism, camping and outdoor industries in the online exhibitor index on the CMT website.
Public events such as Messe Stuttgart’s autumn line-up or Euromotor, which were recently held at the Stuttgart Trade Fair Centre under 2G conditions (admission solely for vaccinated and recovered persons) or 2G+ conditions (admission solely for vaccinated and recovered persons with a negative test) also led us to hope that CMT could be staged safely and successfully. “For a good ten months, we have fought tirelessly for a successful CMT 2022 and developed new formats and key topics both for end customers and trade visitors,” said Guido von Vacano, a member of the Board of Management of Messe Stuttgart. “For example, diving and snorkelling tourism would have been represented by Interdive for the first time at CMT. The current situation has had a devastating impact on everyone who passionately organise personal encounters. We are now looking forward to the next CMT. We would like to thank everyone who has accompanied us so far and will also continue to do so in future,” said von Vacano. The costs for all tickets purchased for CMT will be refunded using the same method in which they were ordered.
The next CMT will take place from 14 to 22 January 2023.
